LAFAYETTE

The Area

There are some great walks around Lafayette and the quiet country roads and dirt tracks are ideal for exploring the area by bike. The world famous caves of Lascaux are just twenty minutes away, as well as other prehistoric caves and attractions belonging to the Vézère Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rivers and valleys of the Dordogne with its castles, its small towns, picturesque villages and vineyards - including the Pays de Bergerac - offer recreation, sports and entertainment in a pleasant climate. It is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine on a summer's evening or to sample the renowned cuisine of the area.
